Guest Procedures and Protocols

When you arrive at the cottage, there are several procedures and protocols that both guest and the host need to abide by to maintain the safety of all persons.

Please do not travel to the cottage if you have any symptoms of Covid-19. You should book a test and isolate at home and follow the NHS instructions

  • Please ensure that we have your current contact details, name / address /telephone number and email address. This is important information for track and trace. All information will be kept with accordance with our GDPR protocols

  • Guests will be sent a link to the cottage welcome book which can be downloaded to a mobile device and can be used offline. The welcome book will give details of all aspects of the cottage, eg the WIFI code, where the heating thermostat is located and instructions for all the cottage appliances.  It will also have links to tourist attractions, and other contact information that you may find useful. (Please let us know if we have missed anything.) If guests have any queries after their arrival, please do not hesitate to contact us.

  • If guests plan to visit any restaurants, pubs, and tourist locations, they are advised to check the relevant websites as some may still require advance booking due to limitation on numbers. This will avoid disappointment.

  • Guests will be advised of the location of the sanitized key

  • When you arrive, we will not enter the cottage unless it is necessary. Only essential maintenance will be undertaken during a guest stay

  • A bottle of hand sanitizer is located in the the cottage entrance hallway. Please use it every time you enter. An interior sign will remind you. Let us know if it needs refilling during your stay.

  • The welcome pack will consist of sealed items.

  • The cottage will contain an iPad onto which the welcome book has been downloaded together with any other information. Please check for messages (green envelope icon) especially if you have arrived late and we have been unable to greet you in person.

  • The kitchen and bathroom will have a supply of cleaning materials including viricidal disinfectant, bleach, tissues, and disposable cloths and wipes and gloves.

  • During your stay, please air the property regularly (if the weather allows)

  • If guests are booked for two weeks or more, we are currently unable to provide the usual change over services unless the guests are physically unable. Guests are requested to strip the beds and place bedlinen (pillowcases and duvet cover) and used towels, bathmats, tea towels etc. in the laundry basket in the hallway. Clean bed linen and towels will be provided

  • Prior to your departure, guests are requested:

to leave all the windows open if the weather allows

Strip the bed and bag the used linen (Leave in bedroom)

Place crockery and cutlery and glasses etc. into the dishwasher and turn on.

Thank you for your cooperation, it is greatly appreciated.
